Alpha State School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic team member for the role of Head of Department - Curriculum from 8 July 2024 until 13 September 2024, unless otherwise determined.

Within this role you will have the opportunity to:
Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives;
Participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division;
Develop the quality of teaching and learning;
Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

About Alpha State School

Alpha State School is a coeducational school that caters for students from prep to year ten and is located approximately 300 km east of Longreach and 187 km west of Emerald.

Our school caters for students in Prep to Year 10 and assists students in Year 11 and 12 doing Distance Education.

About the Role

The key responsibilities of this role are:
Driving the school's strategic direction for school improvement, with a direct alignment to the school's Explicit Improvement Agenda.
Provide systems leadership to lead self, others and within the community.

Champion student achievement through the promotion of high yield research-based practices to support the performance measures under 'Equity and Excellence'.

Foster a professional learning environment utilising data-based decision marking.
Utilise instructional leadership to have line of sight into the impact of Alpha State School's AIP.
Work alongside colleagues to support teaching staff to promote inclusive teaching practices to positively impact student learning.
