The role will work as part of the Security Teams to protect the SCG brand and the client experience by proactively detecting, disrupting, remediating and mitigating cyber security risks across the organisation.
The Cyber Security Remediation Specialist (CSRS) will assist in implementing, managing, and monitoring security remediation and patching efforts to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability SCG's information assets.

The major accountabilities of this position are:
- Analyse findings from security monitoring systems to determine appropriate patching and remediation
- Support incident requests regarding vulnerability remediation, patching/remediation status, metrics,
- Review all current and existing vulnerabilities for active and acceptable remediation plans which will form part of the change management process. Verify that remediation plans are implemented as per remediation plans and business requirements.
- Review and identify any potential gaps that may result in possible audit
- Drive remediation of vulnerabilities with particular focus on server endpoints and network
- Review all vulnerability scan results to identify security risks and report on findings to appropriate
- Respond to relevant requests received from stakeholders, for
- Provide all necessary reports and presentations on the status of remediation efforts, gaps and potential obstacles or issues to both management and technical staff.
- Some out of hour's work will be required in relation to patching and remediation
About You
Required Skills:
- Approximately 5 years' experience in information
- Good communication skills, and the ability to understand and translate cyber security threats from a technical perspective to business understanding and execution; ability to communicate risks and propose counter measures to colleagues and management as may be required.
- Welldeveloped analytic and critical thinking skills, demonstrated creative problemsolving abilities
- Ability to work independently on initiatives with little Motivated and willing to learn.
- Broad technical background related to security technologies, such as Server and workstation Operating Systems, Network Security, Vulnerability Scanning Engines, Vulnerability Management lifecycle, and Compliance Management solutions.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- CISSP or equivalent certification
- Strong analytic/problem solving/critical thinking skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with Technical and Non-Technical business owners
- Ability to understand and communicate to colleagues and leadership the risks associated with current state technology environments.
- Provide support to the other members of the information security
- Have a deep understanding of riskbased security
- Must have a strong understanding of Security by Design approaches as new technology is
