Where the team fits in

  • The Accounts Payable Officer sits within the Australian Finance team. The Australian Finance team consists of Financial Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payment Solutions working together to ensure accuracy/integrity of transactions for the Australian business, as well manage reporting to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • The Finance and Business Services team, or FaBS as we like to call them, is the engine room of the REA Group. The team is comprised of Finance, Risk & Assurance, Workplace Experience & Procurement, Investor Relations, Corporate Development and Corporate Communications.


This cross-functional group of individuals who are the best in their fields, provide strategic commercial input and guidance around decisions across all levels of the business, while continually improving the 'behind the scenes' of REA to support our people, drive efficiencies and maximise customer satisfaction.


  • What the role is all about
  • Completing Accounts Payable tasks including successful execution of payment runs and managing Purchase Order receipting and approvals
  • Timely and accurate processing of invoices
  • Respond to business queries relating to the endtoend purchase to pay process
  • Manage the Accounts Payable inbox, ensuring queries are responded to and cleared in a timely manner
  • Assist with reporting of Accounts Payable balances for the Group, including Payment Times Reporting for small vendors
  • Conduct supplier statement reconciliation and maintenance to supplier records
  • Maintain and update Delegation of Authority matrix in line with company policy
  • Ensuring all payments to suppliers, grant recipients, franchisees etc. go through stringent validation processes as appropriate
  • Assist with monthend duties, including bank reconciliations
  • Ensuring compliance with SOX requirements
  • Support internal and external audit requests

  • Previous relevant experience in accounting support roles, preferably in a highvolume environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate & collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
  • Continuous process improvement skills and experience
  • Works productively in a fast paced and agile environment
  • Experience using Netsuite and Zendesk is not essential, although this would be an advantage
  • Great eye for detail, and the ability to think outside the box
  • Looks at tricky situations through a solutionsfocused lensThe REA experience
