Part-time: 3 days a week
6 month contract with a view to go permanent
A unique opportunity to truly add value and make a difference to many lives
This purpose-led organisation is seeking a Communications / PR Manager to nuture a strong media network to increase awareness through effective communications and media relations.
Responsibilities:
Develop a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics.
- Develop media relations strategy, seeking highlevel placements in print, broadcast and proactive social media.
- Coordinate all public relations activities, including events with partners.
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts.
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
- Create content for press releases, opinion piece articles and presentations.
- Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results on a monthly and quarterly
- Evaluate opportunities for partnerships on an ongoing basis.
- Build relationships with thought leaders to grow awareness.
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy.
- Maintain stakeholders database (key media and government relationships).
Key Skills:
- Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level. (Government media experience preferable)
- Strong relationships with both state and national media.
- Experience acting as a spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in broadcast and print media interviews.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with handson experience with social media, including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- Event planning experience.
