Principal Policy Officer - Student Engagement and Alternative Learning Education (Organisation site ) Disability, Inclusion and Student Services Branch, Early Childhood and State Schools Division The Student Engagement and Alternative Learning team works to improve education, training and employment outcomes for young people who are disengaged, or at risk of disengaging from education, training and employment.

We're looking for an individual who enjoys working in a dynamic work environment and as part of a small, motivated and energetic team This role will lead oversight and ongoing implementation of the Link and Launch program, supporting young people who have completed Year 12 and are not in study or work to make a successful post-school transition.

Your Role:

You will provide program oversight to a geographically dispersed team of 36 Link and Launch officers, and effectively manage the business operations of the program in collaboration with school principals and senior executives.

This temporary vacancy is available for immediate commencement until December 2024, unless otherwise determined As the Principal Policy Officer, you will: Promote positive and meaningful post-school transitions for Year 12 completers through the statewide coordination and delivery of the Link and Launch program.

Undertake an analysis of a wide range of research and data pertinent to young people's engagement and disengagement from further study, training or work in order to identify future strategies and actions.

Provide sound governance, financial and human resource management to ensure the ongoing operations of the program.

Identify and address emerging issues and trends that impact on programs and services to maximise post-school engagement and develop appropriate responses to ensure that services continue to align with evolving requirements.

Work in partnership with members of the Student Engagement and Alternative Learning team across other initiatives to ensure every young Queenslander can succeed at school and successfully transition to further study or work.

Provide briefings to senior executives and the Minister on the program and assist in identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
