About the Role

ABC Radio Perth is seeking a Content Director to lead editorial content and planning across its platforms. This key leadership position will drive and shape station content, collaboration and culture.

Reporting to the Local Manager Perth, you will:
  • Provide editorial leadership in planning and production to create distinctive and compelling content across all platforms.
  • Work creatively with teams to serve our existing audience and strive to reach new audiences.
  • Lead and develop the ABC Radio Perth team to achieve a shared understanding and commitment to team objectives.
  • Identify local content that can be shared across ABC content areas, and across the ABC on multiple platforms.
  • Manage the implementation of the Local Emergency Coverage plan.
About You

You are passionate about storytelling, as well as the energy and creativity of live flow radio. You are able to demonstrate an understanding of the Western Australian media environment with a commitment to furthering the interests and needs of the Western Australian community.

You take pride in identifying and developing new approaches to content creation. You also understand how digital and social platforms can reach and engage new audiences. You will bring exceptional editorial skills and judgement, a deep understanding of the local audience and experience in leading and developing teams.

You have experience in building an inclusive and supportive workplace culture where diversity is valued. You highly value a happy and productive working environment and have a strong commitment to the welfare of the people around you. You understand and have a strong commitment to public broadcasting and the broader role of the ABC in the Australian community.
