Appointment Pool

Employee Relations is seeking to establish a pool of Workers' Compensation Officer for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2024 and up to the end of May 2026. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2024, up to the end of May 2026.

The Role and our Branch

Suitable applicants will provide efficient and responsive workers' compensation services in accordance with quality standards, legislation and Insurance Commission of Western Australia requirements. Ability to effectively communicate clearly is highly desirable, as this role will provide input into developing approaches to best practice management of claims, controlling the financial aspects and reimbursement of claim costs in consultation with the injury management and work health and safety units of the Directorate.

The Workforce Division comprises Workforce Policy and Coordination, Staff Recruitment and Employment Services, the Employee Support Bureau and Labour Relations. The Division is responsible for the effective and efficient provision of a range of human resource functions to Departmental staff at all levels.

Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with individuals at all levels, work cooperatively and interact effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated skills and experience in managing claims within a workers' compensation and/or injury management environment. Demonstrated well developed conceptual and analytical skills, with an ability to provide innovative thinking in problem solving. Demonstrated well developed organisational skills, including the ability to deliver outcomes on schedule. Demonstrated knowledge of the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act and any other relevant legislation and experience in interpreting and applying this knowledge.
