As the Manager, Contracts and Performance you will be responsible for leading commercial oversight of assigned relationships within the QantasLink Ground Handling portfolio.

The key focus for this role will be the strategic management of third-party supplier relationships, including ensuring Standard Ground Handling Agreements (SGHAs) are executed with third party providers and delivery of performance management frameworks.

The role is also accountable for Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across Qantas Group businesses where QantasLink Airports provides or receives ground services to / from other Qantas Group businesses.

This role will partner closely with the QantasLink Airport operational teams to ensure the QantasLink Ground Handling portfolio effectively delivers required operational outcomes while continuing to balance financial outcomes and transformation opportunities.


This position is required to inform a wide group of stakeholders of the benefits, costs and risks associated with proposed Ground Handling arrangements and make recommendations on the strategic direction of the Ground Handling Portfolio, including contract strategy, supplier selection and performance management frameworks.

The role must ensure that all the Group Management System and all Policies and Procedures are adhered to in the execution and management of SGHAs.

This role will also be required to assist the Head of Commercial Agreements, Government and Contracted Flying with the management of other commercial aspects of the QantasLink portfolio as required.

You'll have

  • Relationship management skills the ability to build strong, cooperative and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Commercial acumen the ability to strategically and critically evaluate commercial proposals and make recommendations on solutions that deliver on QantasLink strategic objectives
  • Communication & Influencing skills the ability to clearly articulate complex issues in an easy to understand manner and at an appropriate level of detail in order to influence key stakeholders to pursue a desired course of action
  • Negotiation skills experience in leading large commercial negotiations in markets with limited suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute to teams across traditional organisational boundaries
  • Experience in driving results in a fastpaced and continually changing environment
