Your role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Contract Officer to join our growing team in Parramatta.

Working as part of the Strategic Contract Management team within Commercial Management in the Capital Planning & Investment directorate, you will assist with the implementation of specialist infrastructure procurement for Infrastructure and Assets to ensure effective procurement practice that adheres to organisational and government policy.


A division of The Department of Communities and Justice, the Infrastructure & Assets is responsible for the end-to-end management of the department's asset portfolio, the delivery of the department's capital infrastructure programs and the strategic planning of the department's immediate and long-term infrastructure needs.


What you'll do
As part of the Strategic Contract Management team, you will to be resilient, adaptable, committed to teamwork and comfortable working in an environment of change

You will:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of contract management plans by sourcing documents and established contracts, as well as monitor performance and address nonperformance, to achieve the required contract outcomes
  • Administer contracts in accordance with approved Contract Management Plans and procedures and update contract details to maintain the integrity of contract information
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder and supplier relationships to identify and minimise risk, and maximise the value from the contract
  • Proactively identify and manage contract risks to meet organisational obligations and achieve the planned outcomes of the contract
  • Support the team in tender management, supplier selection, contractor, and customer performance activities


You'll work as part of the Capital Planning & Investment team delivering our services with a collaborative approach, enabling faster responses, more seamless operations, less duplication of effort and better outcomes.


What we're looking for

  • Do you clearly explain complex concepts and arguments to a variety of stakeholders?
  • Influence others with a fair and considered approach and present persuasive counterarguments?
  • Do you take responsibility for delivering on intended outcomes?
  • Knowledge of the NSW Procurement Framework, construction category management, governance, and procurement policies
  • Relevant work experience in contract and category management, procurement, or a related area
  • Application of legal, policy and organisational guidelines and procedures in relation to procurement and contract management
  • Ability to identify ways to improve systems or processes which are used by the team/unit
  • Representation of honesty, ethical and professional behaviour
