About the Role

Join our client, a well-established construction contractor with an exciting pipeline of projects across Southeast Queensland and interstate. They are seeking an HSEQ Advisor to champion safety on their Queensland sites.

What You Will Be Doing:

Reporting to the Head of Safety, you will:

  • Provide support in the development and implementation of HSEQ Policies, Processes, and Procedures.
  • Assist in coordinating and advising on HSEQ safe work practices, ensuring effective engagement with the Integrated Management Systems.
  • Conduct regular Site Safety Inspections.
  • Lead incident investigations and prepare incident reports for the HSEQ Lead and Project Managers.
  • Manage the input and administration of documentation into the internal online management system.
  • Take hands-on responsibility for training.
  • Take hands-on responsibility for work-related injuries/illnesses and workers' compensation claims management.
  • Liaise with insurers to monitor claims, return-to-work activities, and implement case management strategies.
  • Assist in resolving any issues or disputes related to worker rehabilitation.
  • Develop and implement return-to-work coordination activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Cert IV WHS is required.
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment, ICAM, and return-to-work qualifications are highly desired but not essential.
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) experience working with T1 principal contractors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
