About the role

WesTrac is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) here in Tomago. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the Component Rebuild Centre by providing accurate and efficient pricing, quotations, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.

As an Estimator at the Component Rebuild Centre, your role will involve several critical tasks. Reporting to the Service Support Supervisor you will be responsible for preparing timely quotation requests and queries for both work in progress (WIP) and prospective projects, ensuring accurate information delivery to relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely quotation requests and queries for work in progress (WIP) and prospective projects, ensuring accurate information delivery to relevant stakeholders.
  • Verify the accuracy of pricing requests created for customers.
  • Assess the availability and viability of quoted failed iron parts and salvage for customer requirements.
  • Develop pricing documents that reflect special terms, customer agreements, conditions, assumptions, and specific requests.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers, meeting ongoing and future requirements while upholding WesTrac's values.
  • Additionally, ensure compliance with procedures for accurate service pricing requests and review local external vendor pricing for competitiveness.

Skills & experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Business or a related field with relevant business experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working as an Estimator or in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Highly developed customer service skills, understanding the importance of effective customer management.
  • Exposure to the heavy industry in parts and services would be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to analyse information and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously.
  • Excellent organisational skills, managing fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to meet tight deadlines.
