This is an exciting role with a leading international healthcare and multinational innovation brand.

As the General Counsel, you will be responsible for all legal patents and compliance services in Australia and New Zealand.

You will work closely with and report to the Country Manager, ANZ and sit on the Country Leadership Team.

In addition, you will also have responsibility for all legal services for one of the operating divisions and sit on that business's senior leadership team.


An experienced lawyer with a minimum 12-15 years plus corporate/commercial law experience with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry and experience in leading a team of lawyers will enjoy the responsibility, autonomy and, strategic input into the business that this role offers.


As a key business partner, you will be responsible for a variety of commercial law issues, including promotions, distribution, medical communications, product collaborations, government relations, employment law, litigation management and, special projects such as acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures.

Your role will include drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements including supplier arrangements, customer contracts and intellectual property law arrangements.

You will also advise on tenders, set policies, manage patents and compliance, and work with the business to manage risk.


You will have around 12-15 years plus strong corporate/commercial law experience and ideally with a focus on biopharmaceutical and/or pharmaceutical law, strong contractual drafting, and advisory skills and, an understanding of how to work effectively as part of a global business.

The abilities to lead, manage, develop, and motivate a team are also essential as is, the ability to lead the team and to support the business through transformational change.

Superior communication skills, the ability to work well with others, to manage multiple projects and issues and, a commercial, practical 'can do" approach will be critical to your success in this role.
