The role:


We currently have a senior opportunity for a Head of EnterpriseRisk and SHEQ to join the organisation and manage and lead CareFlight's enterprise-wide risk frameworks, associated with overall SHEQ & Assurance activities.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the key responsibilities for the role will include, but not be limited, to the following:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of CareFlights risk management framework to ensure that risk is identified, minimised, mitigated, or managed.
  • Provide advice and undertake regular reviews with risk owners to ensure the effectiveness (and documentation) of internal controls, and that management response across CareFlights risk management framework is appropriate and timely.
  • Lead the Board and Executive reporting processes.
  • Provide direction and support for the CEO, CFO and COO in relation to the administration, identification, measurement, control and review of strategic, operational, intellectual property and ICT risk registers.
  • Manage the regular review and reporting of CareFlights risk registers, including Executive Leadership Team engagement in relation to preparation of risk updates for the Audit and Risk Committee and the Board.
  • Develop and implement a compliance management and monitoring framework and perform compliance assessments.
  • Develop and provide training to employees on compliance and risk related matters and work with the executive leadership team to foster a culture of compliance and appropriate risk taking across CareFlight.
  • Participate as an effective member of the leadership team to deliver on CareFlights strategic and financial.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • At least five years' experience in a Risk, Quality or Compliance role, preferably with hands-on experience in building or improving a risk and compliance function.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a business partnering capacity whilst maintaining essential independence.
  • Demonstrated track record of influencing stakeholders from different backgrounds to drive riskaware business outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with demonstrated experience preparing and presenting risk reports to an executive and/ board.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a QA framework that enables business agility.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the ESG and Cyber risks arenas.

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Working knowledge of workplace health and safety risks, ICT, and other business risks.
  • Previous experience in a clinical and/or aviation risk environment.
