About the Role

In this pivotal role, focused on risks to the realisation of business strategies and operational risk, you will collaborate closely with the Retail Risk Business Partner to provide invaluable risk insights, guidance, and training. Your expertise will drive effective risk identification and management across our retail operations, ensuring proactive measures to mitigate potential risks. You'll lead a team of risk owners and champions, strategically embedded throughout EnergyAustralia's retail landscape. Elevate your career and make a significant impact by joining us in safeguarding our business's success. As the Risk Lead you will be responsible for the following aspects:

  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to guide and influence key decision making
  • Enable and support the retail businesses in the management and reporting of risks.
  • Facilitate and when required lead the senior risk forums for retail businesses
  • Review the risk management approach and provide recommendations
  • Perform deep dive reviews into the low frequency but high value/risk business activities.
  • Support the development and use of risk processes and frameworks.
  • Provide an annual plan for risk management and improvements.
  • Providing expert advice on Delegations of Authority (DOA) procedure, Risk Policies validation, and exemptions.
  • Work with business risk owners and managers to ensure Risk documents applied to retail businesses are updated, approved and published.
  • Provide support of control testing activities to ensure control outcomes meet business requirements.

If you would like to be part of our team and possess the following skills and experience.

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, information systems or another relevant degree (minimum)
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in a risk, controls or audit role
  • Delivery of operational and compliance risk management, control activities and testing mechanisms, specifically ISO 31000 Risk Management
  • Effective stakeholder management with experience in influencing key decision makers and senior leadership
