About the role:

This role involves close collaboration and focuses on seamlessly coordinating transitions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers between the Calvary emergency department, Mater PECC, MHICU, mental health inpatient units, and community settings

Where you'll be working:

This position is based at Calvary Mater Hospital and involves working closely with a dedicated team of professionals.

You will collaborate with staff from the Calvary emergency department, mental health services, Youth and Adolescent Mental Health Services (YAMHS), and Awabakal, ensuring a holistic and culturally sensitive approach to care.

Your role will be pivotal in fostering strong interdisciplinary relationships and enhancing the quality of service delivery for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers.

Requirements:

  • Completed degree/qualifications in Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health (Djirruwang program), Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology with membership of (or eligibility for) the relevant professional association and/or current registration (or eligibility for) with the Australian Health
Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in the relevant profession.

Applicant seeking appointment as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 must also hold relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.


  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires which may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.

  • You have the strength and passion to enhance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers' engagement with Mental Health service by listening and learning from our communities lived experience.
