About the Position

The Clinical Nurse Consultant will play a key role in supporting and enhancing the service, collaborating within a diverse team to care for patients dealing with Functional Gut (FG) issues. The primary focus is to deliver a comprehensive, patient-centered service for this specific group of patients.

Key responsibilities include providing specialized care and guidance to individuals facing FG challenges through structured care provision in the FG clinic, operating a dedicated support line via phone and email, and educating and training patients, nurses, and medical staff in different care settings.

As a skilled practitioner, the Clinical Nurse Consultant will independently assess and coordinate care plans for a specific patient population with complex medical conditions, demonstrating a strong dedication to advancing the specialty area and their personal and professional growth in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.

The remuneration for this role will be at the ZF4 level ( $107,962.40 per year pro rata).

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in general nursing meeting the registration standards of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Active Nursing Registration with AHPRA
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty (preferred)
  • Current National criminal history check, or willingness to obtain one

About the Gastroenterology Department

The Gastroenterology Department specializes in a broad range of consultative and diagnostic services related to Gastroenterology, with a focus on chronic viral hepatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, therapeutic endoscopy, and esophageal disorders.

SVH Functional Gut (FG) service is a primary referral center for Victoria and Tasmania, offering comprehensive evaluation and intervention for patients experiencing various functional gut issues.
