About the Role
The Perinatal Emotional Health Service (PEHS) is a specialized mental health team within the Eastern Health Mental Health Program. PEHS collaborates closely with Hospital Antenatal Clinics, Primary Health, and Maternal and Child Health Services to deliver perinatal mental health assessments and treatments to women in the Eastern Suburbs. The team has secured additional funding to expand its services, extending support to vulnerable populations including Aboriginal and Refuge/Asylum Seeker women. In line with this, an Aboriginal identified role, the clinical midwife position, has been created. As a clinical midwife/nurse consultant, you will provide dedicated cultural and social support on perinatal health during the antenatal phase through to 12 months postnatally. Additionally, you will assist PEHS clinicians in offering accessible culturally sensitive care to women and their families.
About You
Key requirements:
- Registered Nurse with APRHA and advanced qualification in psychiatric nursing
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and endorsed by the Aboriginal Community
- Significant clinical experience in public mental health or Aboriginal health and healing services
- Commitment to delivering high-quality care
- Ability to collaborate within a diverse team
- Strong communication and organizational capabilities
Vaccination against infectious diseases is a mandatory condition for this role. Employment offer is subject to providing proof of current vaccination against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza before commencing work.
