Job Overview :

Metro Trains Melbourne is currently actively seeking an exceptional professional to step into the pivotal role of Production Coordinator at our Newport Depot.

This leadership position goes beyond the ordinary; it is a unique opportunity to provide guidance, inspire, and have a profound impact on Melbourne's intricate transportation network.

Our operations run around the clock, demanding skilled leadership during 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume leadership of the Newport Depot's maintenance and production activities.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance teams to uphold safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Efficiently manage workflow processes, even during our 12hour shifts, to boost productivity.
  • Skillfully allocate resources, such as personnel and equipment, to meet production targets.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production and maintenance.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that may disrupt production schedules.
  • Cultivate a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement among depot staff.
  • Foster effective communication and coordination with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and cooperation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in production coordination or a similar leadership role, preferably within the transportation or logistics sector.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, particularly crucial for managing 12hour shifts.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, vital for effective leadership.
  • Indepth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings as necessary.
