Senior Manager Contracts (Sunshine Coast)

The Senior Manager Contracts delivers a level of senior input and guidance within the Commissioning and Contracts team, consistent high standards of contract administration, supports in service provider negotiation, and contract development to ensure that CCQ commissioning activities deliver health outcomes for consumers and communities.

The primary purpose of this role is the delivery of the contract development and administration, senior advisement on complex contract management issues, monitoring and evaluation, associated internal reporting and senior support to the Commissioning and Contracts team.

CCQ delivers the primary health network (PHN) program for Central Queensland, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast on behalf of the Commonwealth Department of Health. Achieving this will require CCQ as a commissioning organisation to not only focus on primary health service provision but also on the environmental, social and cultural determinants of health which support communities to live their best lives.

CCQ's diverse region covers 161,108 km2 from Sunshine Coast to Rockhampton and west to Emerald. The population in the region is just under 1M people with around 68% living regionally or remotely and more than 28% living in the most disadvantaged quintile. CCQ collaborates with the community to provide exceptional primary healthcare services to reduce health inequalities for the region. CCQ has seven key priorities for health improvement: mental health, alcohol and other drugs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, population health, health workforce, digital health and older person's health.

The successful person will:

  • Demonstrate experience in Senior Contracts Manager role ideally within the health or not-for-profit sector.
  • Supervise a team to establish priorities and manage competing deadlines (coordinate people's activities, delegates tasks to staff, provide regular feedback).
  • Have outstanding communication skills, with ability to represent the organisation in contract negotiations and complex business negotiations.
  • Possess detailed knowledge of redlining documents requiring in-depth knowledge of RFPs and contracting processes.
  • Hold knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply best practice process related to contract administration, negotiation and management.
  • Attend deal reviews and document risks whilst coordination with Finance or legal (where required), operations and other Subject Matter Experts.
