How you Contribute

The Manager of Quality and Reliability is responsible for leading and managing the organisation's quality assurance and reliability functions to deliver quality outcomes for customers. This role ensures that products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the customer, maintain the highest quality standards, and enhance product reliability throughout their lifecycle. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.

The role plays a key role in maintaining the organisation's reputation for high-quality, reliable products and driving continuous improvement efforts across the company.

Here's what we need
  • Quality Management:
  • Work with senior management to evolve and deliver Emesent's quality and reliability strategy.
  • Update, and maintain the company's quality management system (QMS) in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the creation and revision of quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Conduct regular audits of internal processes and external suppliers to ensure compliance with QMS.
  • Reliability Engineering:
  • Contribute to the oversight and development of reliability testing protocols and procedures to ensure product durability and performance.
  • Analyse failure data and test results to identify trends and root causes of reliability issues.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to incorporate reliability into product development.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
  • Use Six Sigma, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies to drive improvements.
  • Track and report on quality metrics and KPIs to senior management.
  • Supplier Quality Management:
  • Work with the Manufacturing Group to develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to meet quality standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate and improve supplier performance.
  • Work with suppliers to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.
  • Customer Satisfaction:
  • Work with the CS team to promptly and effectively identify and respond to quality issues promptly and effectively.
  • Oversee Quality Control processes to ensure that products shipped meet customer expectations.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction metrics and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of quality testing and quality control team members.
  • Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and create development plans for team members.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
  • Keep abreast of new regulations and standards and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and third-party auditors as required.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks related to product quality and reliability.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Work Environment:
  • This role typically operates in an office environment but requires frequent interaction with manufacturing sites and suppliers.
  • Occasional travel may be required to visit suppliers, customers, or other company locations.
How you'll succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field .
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Proven experience with reliability engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with quality and reliability tools such as FMEA, SPC, CAPA, and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.

  • Ensure the organisation fully complies with all applicable regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that result in measurable product quality and process efficiency improvements.
  • Team Development:
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing quality and reliable team through effective leadership, mentoring, and training.

  • Manage the quality and reliability budget effectively, ensuring cost-efficient operations without compromising quality.
