About the Role


Thiess currently has an opportunity for an Asset Reliability Lead to join the Reliability team in our Operational Support function.

This role is based at Thiess' head office in South Bank, Brisbane.


As our next Asset Reliability Lead, reporting to the Asset Manager, Operational Support, you will be a trusted team lead to provide high-quality technical support to work collaboratively towards implementing best practice solutions while seeking innovation in technology.

Your focus will be on improving the asset and maintenance performance through detailed analysis and supporting all Australian operations with reliability engineering support.


In this role, you will:

Manage a team of reliability engineers to support our Australian operations

Lead regional and project-based reliability initiatives to improve asset performance

Identify and lead programs that improve fleet reliability and mechanical availability

Continuously review and recommend improvements for asset component strategies

Lead reviews and the development of reports to maintain and standardise reporting using PowerBi, Power Automate, and bots across Australian operations

Demonstrate safety leadership in your behaviour and your interactions with others

About You

Trade qualification / engineering degree or equivalent qualifications and experience

Significant experience in maintenance operations and reliability activities for large mining equipment

Competent in the use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., JDE)

Highly effective communication skills:
both written and verbal with the ability to negotiate with key stakeholders and influence outcomes
