Our OpportunityWe present an exciting opportunity within our global Enterprise Business Systems team for a Senior Manager, IT SAP Payroll – Australia & PNG.
This pivotal leadership role involves direct engagement with all facets of the company, including HR, Benefits, Recruitment, T&E, and Finance, to spearhead innovation and advancement in our payroll systems and technologies. Emphasizing operational excellence, service management, and continuous enhancement, key responsibilities include:
- Supervising the payroll support team for operational support, maintenance, updates, and continuous enhancement of the payroll ecosystem and its interfaces.
- Backing the payroll strategy and transitioning payroll and time management services to a Cloud SaaS model.
- Facilitating the development of a payroll roadmap to standardize and optimize payroll solutions throughout the organization.
- Establishing tools and support processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality support aligned with service agreements, with timely escalations when necessary.
- Planning and coordinating the implementation of payroll solutions.
- Engaging with other IT teams and vendors appropriately on requirements, challenges, and initiatives.
- Directing the team to achieve support targets and monitoring their performance.
- Staying informed about industry best practices and the capabilities of Payroll solutions.
This role is part of a diverse global team; therefore, the location can be flexible across major Australian cities. Given the nature of the position, collaborating across varied time zones and occasional domestic or international travel may be necessary.

About You
We are searching for a seasoned IT leader with a minimum of 10 years' experience in SAP Payroll. You should possess robust technical skills, in-depth knowledge of SAP Payroll functionality and integration points, as well as experience in payroll implementation. Holding certification as an SAP Payroll practitioner, along with relevant tertiary qualifications, is highly valued.
Other essential skills and capabilities include:
- Sound business and technical expertise, with the ability to explain intricate concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in leading people, including remote teams.
- Effective in building relationships and managing stakeholders, with the capacity to influence outcomes at a senior management level.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing priorities and navigating through uncertainties.
- Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, encompassing logical and structured decision-making.
