About the role

With minimal supervision, you'll lead various organizing, campaign, industrial, and recruitment projects within a Division Organizing and/or Industrial Team. Working closely with Division Officers, the Division Council, Branch Officers, Branch Committees, and other staff at different levels, you'll ensure the successful completion of assigned tasks and projects.

This is a full-time position available from June 12, 2024. You will be based at the SA Division office in Adelaide and will also have allocated time at specified Branches, involving travel to Flinders University and other universities in SA.

To excel in this role, we're seeking...

  • a proven background and dedication to unionism and advocacy for social justice and/or workplace rights;
  • experience in recruitment, organizing, campaigning, administration, and database management;
  • advanced digital literacies and online skills;
  • experience collaborating in team-based environments;
  • exceptional social and interpersonal skills; and
  • knowledge of the tertiary sector and experience supporting activist networks would be beneficial.

The benefits?

The position will be filled at either NTEU Level 5 ($93,333 to $100,909) or NTEU Level 6 ($105,372 to $115,515) depending on skills and experience, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. Terms and conditions for this position are covered by a national collective agreement similar to NTEU members in the industry.
