About the role

Oversee the procurement and management of information and communication technology (ICT) goods and services for council and lead a dynamic procurement team.

This role involves developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with relevant procurement policies and regulations and the Queensland Information Technology Contracting (QITC) framework.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, mentor, and empower the procurement team fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and collaboration
  • Develop and implement Category and strategic sourcing strategies for ICT goods and services
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, business units, and senior management, to understand requirements, align priorities, and facilitate effective procurement processes to meet ICT requirements
  • Champion initiatives for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost optimisation within the ICT procurement function, encouraging innovation and creativity while upholding the organisation's values and principles

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in strategic procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or related field; or relevant/comparable industry experience
  • Extensive leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to develop, inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence, grounded in our values of communication, integrity, collaboration, leadership, and efficiency
  • Extensive experience in procurement, contract management, or vendor management, preferably within the ICT sector and with experience in QITC contracts
