About the Role
The Commercial Project Development Manager plays a pivotal role in bringing opportunities to life by overseeing the successful planning, execution, and closure of commercial capital projects. Working closely with various teams, clients, and stakeholders is crucial to ensure project objectives are achieved within stipulated timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all project phases, from inception to completion, across diverse commercial capital projects.
  • Create and oversee detailed project plans encompassing scopes, timelines, costs, and resources.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., business development, marketing, operations, engineering, finance, legal) and external partners (e.g., clients, contractors) for seamless project implementation.
  • Develop project business plans focusing on economics, supply, and offtake strategies.
  • Drive the establishment of Joint Ventures or Special Purpose Vehicles as needed.
  • Lead site selection and oversee planning and permitting processes.
  • Coordinate the development of logistics systems crucial for plant operations.
  • Choose and manage contractors involved in project delivery.
  • Monitor project advancement, anticipate challenges, and devise contingency plans.
  • Manage project costs to ensure on-budget completion.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and company standards.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring clarity on project goals.
  • Engage with government agencies when necessary to support project activities.
  • Establish standardized processes and tools for efficient project development.
  • Prepare and present project status updates to senior management.
  • Identify and resolve project-related issues affecting scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Conduct project post-mortems to extract lessons learned and drive improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 12 years' relevant experience (less may suffice based on role-specific expertise).
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in capital project development, encompassing both execution and commercial aspects.
  • Familiarity with operating assets and a knack for grasping new technologies.
  • Proficiency in project management principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of project management software tools.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication aptitude.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and manage stakeholders.
  • Solid financial acumen and competence in budget management.
  • Preferential background in oil & gas or energy industries and licensed technologies.
