The Role

As a Fleet Technical Officer you will be required to undertake bus inspections and investigations including safety, cleanliness and roadworthiness to ensure compliance with service contracts, field audits on behalf of the Contract Administrators. In addition, you will plan, coordinate and provide reporting of compliance audits.

There is one permanent, full-time vacancy available for filling.

  • Knowledge of and experience with Australian Standards relevant to the bus industry and the Australian Design Rules
  • A Trade Certificate in a related discipline and a thorough knowledge of related automotive trades.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyse and solve technical problems in transport environement.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work unsupervised, plan and prioritise work and meet targets
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of a personal computer and in particular word processing and spreadsheet applications.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.

Please note you will be required to complete the PTA Integrity and Qualification Consent Form and an Australian National Police Clearance (NPC) should you become the recommended applicant through the recruitment process. Adverse outcomes of Integrity Reviews, NPCs and Drivers Licence checks (where applicable) may not necessarily disqualify an applicant from the selection process. All PTA positions are subject to ongoing integrity screening.

To be eligible for appointment to a position, suitable applicants will be required to undertake a full and comprehensive medical assessment. Applicants who are shortlisted will be assessed on all/or the remaining Selection Criteria in the JDF during the selection process.
