Ayan Infotech has an exciting 6-month contract opportunity for an experienced ICT Security Specialist in Sydney, CBD. Hybrid work model is offered with this role where the delivery team work in the office once a fortnight.

This contract is paying the daily rate of $1200 + superannuation
Our client is a NSW State Government department.

The ICT Security Specialist will work in a leading role in a ICT Security audit and assessment of my client's security practice across API and testing.

A senior
hands-on ICT Security specialist is required to review my client's ICT security landscape across API and testing to provide recommendations on best security practices to ensure that IT enviornment cannot be breached.


Key accountabilities:

  • Catalogue test environments and specifically register those which are connected to the Internet. This information will be shared with the IT teams for their inclusion into asset management repository;
  • Record the information risk posed by these test environments specifically is production data used for testing and or are development environments connected to production systems;
  • Develop proposals to support and secure internet exposed test environments;
  • Develop a test environment guideline to support future developments.

Key Challenges:

  • Influencing and managing diverse stakeholders, including IT staff, risk owners and executives, to ensure an engaging and positive security risk culture
  • Aligning varied and numerous existing processes, technologies and people to drive harmonisation and best practices
  • Interpreting and aligning internal and external requirements, including industry standards, auditors, regulatory bodies, executives, legislative/administrative instruments, and business function requirements.

About you:

  • Technically minded with an ability to design and develop new processes, capabilities and solutions to support the ongoing defence of our technology environment.
  • Extensive experience in cyber security, technology or a related field.
  • Relied upon to provide expert technical advice, assessment and input into management decision making to improve our security posture.
  • A passionate understanding of technologies and capabilities employed to defend and protect systems and data.
  • A collaborative team player who can work with technical and nontechnical teams to ensure appropriate understanding of cyber security tools and capabilities.
