ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all invoices received for payment and to undertake the payment of all creditors in a timely manner.
  • Efficiently manage all activities associated with the payment cycle whilst providing a quality and efficient service to internal and external customers and provide guidance to relevant staff on processing purchase orders and invoices in accordance with Council policy;
  • Assist and provide input with the maintenance of Accounts Payable policies and procedures including financial systems and operations on a current basis.
  • Support the administration of the Purchase Order system when required

TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Diploma in Accounting
  • Administrative tasks relating to Purchase Orders carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Assistance to customers, internal and external, with queries relating to payments and purchase orders.
  • Creation of new vendors in the system with correct financial delegation
  • Maintenance of vendor master file accurately
  • Processing of supplier invoices for payment timely and accurately
