The Field Services (FS) Team in the Chief Operations Business Unit provides a wide range of Field Workforce capabilities across various technologies for Service Activation, Service Assurance, Network Assurance, Network Maintenance, Customer Complaints related to Network faults, and Quality Inspection.


About Your Role

Based in Adelaide, as a Field Engineer, you will represent nbn's Field Services team for all field-based assurance activities.

You will be in charge of supporting, integrating, augmenting, conducting field audits, ensuring connect quality, and maintaining Delivery Partner quality across nbn and connected services.

You will offer top-notch field support that may involve travel, scheduled after-hours tasks, and participation in an on-call roster with the readiness to respond to after-hours incidents.


The Role Includes:
  • Managing and performing equipment and system level Service Assurance activities in the field
  • Improving the quality of Active network construction activities and investigating early-onset faults
  • Providing on-site, complex, technical, and ad-hoc network support
  • Resolving technical escalations from Customer Field Technicians
  • Conducting end-user installation and assurance tasks
  • Supporting network element changes or upgrades
  • Operating within SLA, OLA, and CRQ timeframes
  • Possessing basic knowledge of HFC design principles
  • Background in fundamental fibre optics
  • Ability to ensure the network from CMTS to CMA


About You

You should have a background in the technical field, preferably with solid network assurance experience in one or more nbn technologies like Ethernet, DWDM, GPON, or VDSL.

Experience in outside plant construction for Fibre or Copper networks would be advantageous.

You are a natural problem solver with a methodical approach. Quick learning skills would be beneficial for this role.

Given the requirements of this position, you must be adaptable, flexible, and capable of managing conflicting priorities.
