The role;

The Team Leader will lead a team of dedication lifestyle workers to achieve the best outcomes for our clients in a social group, centre based and overnight respite setting in South West Sydney. Our programs are designed to be fun and enabling environments, we offer interesting recreational activities that are based on what our clients like to do, such as games, dancing, exercise, arts (painting and pottery), crafts, movies, cooking and outings.


Reporting to the Program Manager, the Team Leader will play a key role to deliver an excellent customer experience for our clients and their carers in our community based social group, centre based and overnight cottage respite programs.

You will have great leadership skills and be confident in coordinating safe, quality person-centred support for older people while achieving excellent outcomes that align with the Organisation's Values, Vision and Mission.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily / evening activities of the services, including rostering staff and arranging client transport
  • Organise meaningful, interesting and fun activities for the people attending participating in the groups
  • Build and promote the services to the wider community
  • Over see the Food Safety Program
  • Ensure the centre environment is safe by following WHS principles
  • Engrain and encourage a culture that aligns with Anglicare's philosophy
  • Ensure the services are financially efficient and data/client records are accurately kept up to date
  • Encourage and lead by example an attitude of continuous improvement.

Criteria:

  • Diploma of Leisure and Health/Community Services/Aged Care/Nursing or relevant equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in Home Care/Community/Aged Care
  • Previous team leader experience in leading and coaching a team, gained in a busy environment
  • Superior skills in communication including a demonstrated ability to work with older people, people living with dementia and their families/advocates
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Office.
  • Current driver's licence and vehicle
  • Must be willing to travel between sites.
  • Fully vaccinated for Covid19
