About the Role:

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify, develop, implement and evaluate integrated communication strategies, initiatives and plans that contribute to the achievement of the branch's strategic objectives, and meet the needs of a wide range of audiences.
  • Review and edit materials from the communication and marketing team, and other branch officers as required, in line with communication protocols and to ensure clear, consistent messaging.
  • Develop effective working relationships and provide highlevel strategic advice to senior executive and initiative leads on communication, engagement, media and online issues and opportunities.
  • Develop promotional strategies, and provide advice on how to manage potential issues in consultation with internal stakeholders.
  • Identify, develop and encourage the development of opportunities to promote branch projects, initiatives and events through the use of existing and new costefficient channels.
  • Liaise with Strategic Communication and Engagement staff to ensure that Information and Technologies Branch communications conform with the standards set by the Department.
  • Ensure communication activity is best practice in terms of communication with people with a disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Manage communication governance activities such as developing policies, procedures and protocols, and reporting on the branch's communication activities.
