    About the Branch

The Branch supports efficient resource management and corporate accountability through functions such as financial management, performance reporting, parliamentary services, procurement, facilities management and human resource management.

The branch also complements the scheme-focus of other agency divisions by facilitating strategic communications and client engagement through the agency's website and contact centre.


About the role

The APS4 Finance Systems Officer is accountable under general direction to undertake moderately complex finance system and finance related activities and tasks within established procedures and guidance.

As a key member of the Finance team, you will work collaboratively to ensure that the following key responsibilities are completed:

  • Providing systems administration support for the key financial management system
  • TechOne. This involves a TechOne helpdesk function to assist business areas and attend to escalated requests, identifying and resolving issues arising with the use of the system and integration with other systems.
  • Providing advice, assistance and training to staff in the use of the TechOne system and, particularly, in relation to procurement, contract management, travel and timesheets. This includes the preparation of learning and support materials to explain processes to users.
  • Managing TechOne system user access.
  • Providing assistance in developing enhancements for the TechOne system, including but not limited to, developing, testing and communicating new reports, dashboards and forms.
  • Providing guidance and assistance to other areas of the agency in relation to straightforward procurement and finance matters.
  • Complete end of month ledger rolls.
  • Extracting information from Technology One Financials (such as contract expenditure) and preparing basic reports in response to requests for information or to support the preparation of corporate or compliance reports.
  • Other financial administrative tasks required by the section, as directed.

Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience in finance system administration support.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus, excellent communication abilities, stakeholder relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate managing competing priorities and workload requirements to meet the objectives of the finance team and the broader business.
  • Prior TechOne or finance system experience is preferable but not essential.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Systems, Finance, Commerce/Business or equivalent academic specialisation are highly desirable.
