The M80 Ring Road Alliance, made up of MACA, Acciona, and AECOM, has been chosen to work on the design and construction of the M80 Ring Road Completion Project.

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Engineer – Utilities to join our team situated in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, specifically in Greensborough/Watsonia.

This role involves overseeing a team of engineers responsible for delivering the Utilities scope of work.

Tasks include designing and building the North East Link between the M80 - Plenty Rd interchange and the north tunnel entrance at Watsonia.

The project includes the construction of three kilometers of new freeway, two kilometers of freeway upgrades, building retaining walls and bridges, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, and urban design and landscaping.

This diverse and stimulating project is expected to be completed by 2028.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervising day-to-day project construction activities for the Utilities scope of work
  • Managing a team of Project and Site Engineers
  • Overseeing workforce and subcontractor performance on-site to ensure adherence to technical, program, quality, environmental, safety, and commercial standards
  • Planning and procuring necessary resources to meet program needs (equipment, labor, materials, and subcontractor requirements)
  • Coordinating trades and subcontractors with the support of supervisors
  • Implementing site establishment activities to meet site-specific and contract requirements
  • Identifying, analyzing, and mitigating potential risk events along with managing changes to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Evaluating variance, trends, risks, and opportunities to highlight significant operational issues to management

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within the civil construction industry
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in civil infrastructure projects
  • Experience in subcontractor management and self-perform projects
