About AGA:

With over three decades of experience in training and placing individuals in jobs, AGA specializes in apprenticeships and traineeships. AGA collaborates with the MAS National group to provide Apprenticeship Network Provider services in Victoria.

About the position:

AGA is currently in search of a dedicated individual eager to enhance their administrative skills as a Full-time Business Trainee at a Secondary College. The ideal candidate will handle various administrative tasks to support the student wellbeing team and office staff. This role requires a commitment of 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Our organization is committed to offering guidance and training to the successful trainee, including on-the-job training over a 12-month period. Responsibilities:

Financial:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for the school
  • Prepare financial documentation for budget planning
  • Manage creditors and financial systems as needed
  • Handle accounts receivable and payable processes
  • Review financial reports for discrepancies and report findings
  • Offer guidance to program coordinators and teaching staff regarding budget spending
  • Other financial duties as assigned by the Business Manager or Principal
  • Work with Business Manager and Principal to address any outstanding accounts or discrepancies

Administration:

  • Provide administrative support to the College Administration Office, including answering phones, managing reception, issuing passes, handling cash transactions, maintaining stock, and welcoming visitors
  • Distribute mail as necessary
  • Assist in organizing special events, meetings, and catering arrangements
  • Adhere to OHS policies and procedures
  • Maintain student enrollment systems

Requirements:

The ideal Trainee should meet the following selection criteria:

  • Proficient in computer operations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively
  • Respect for confidentiality and privacy
  • Willingness to undergo a Police Check
  • Australian citizenship or Permanent Resident status
  • Positive and quick learning attitude
  • Openness to attending accredited training programs
