About the role

As a Building Regulatory Officer, you will be part of the Building team, and will be responsible for ensuring that building work within the City of Ipswich satisfies the requirements of the governing legislation in a customer focused and professional manner.


Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • The provision of support and advice to the Coordinator (Building Control) and assisting with the efficient and effective performance of the objectives, organisational relationships and other requirements of the position
  • Processing and assessment of Building Regulatory Applications in compliance with all relevant Statutory Acts and Laws, including Council's cultural heritage practices, and carrying out inspections for compliance with legislation
  • Preparation of advice to, and liaison with, internal and external stakeholders, State and Federal Government Departments any other Statutory Authorities as necessary with regards to program functions

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An excellent fit with our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership
  • Substantial knowledge and experience within building control, construction, compliance, design or technical qualifications relative to the role are desirable
  • Current C Class driver's licence or equivalent Australian licence from another State or Territory

This is a permanent full-time role, level - 5 with a salary package commencing at $82,260 plus superannuation of up to 12.25%.

$82,260.00 per year
