Position Purpose:


The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of effective football programs at the club.

The individual will be responsible for reviewing, refining, and enhancing all programs, ensuring their alignment with the strategic goal of developing players to excel both on and off the field.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Review and Development: Conduct a comprehensive review of all programs, including Boys Skills Acquisition, Girls Skills Acquisition, Boys Association Youth League, Girls Youth League, League 1 Womens, Monday Development Squad, Coaching Academy at Clubs, Private Tuition, Advanced Academy, Sydney FC Partnership Holiday Clinics, and Summer Football. Develop recommendations for improvements and innovations and oversee their implementation.
  • Collaboration and

Stakeholder Engagement:

Engage with the 26 member clubs and other stakeholders to ensure the programs are supportive of their player's pathways for skill development.

Establish a communication strategy to effectively involve all relevant parties in the planning and execution of the programs.

  • Strategic Planning and Alignment: Ensure that the objectives of all programs align with the strategic goal of developing players to excel in football and beyond.
  • Resource Management: Evaluate the resources (human, physical, financial) allocated to each program. Develop strategies for optimising the use of these resources to maximise program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish monitoring and evaluation systems to track the performance of all programs. Regularly report on program progress and outcomes, making adjustments as needed to ensure program effectiveness.

Volunteer Management:
Manage and guide staff and volunteers involved in the delivery of programs. Promote a culture of continuous learning and development among the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in program management, preferably within a sports setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Knowledge of football development strategies and trends.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage teams.
