About the Opportunity

You will be responsible for:

  • Properly collecting, handling, storing, packaging, and labeling pathology samples
  • Delivering top-notch pathology assistance to requesting medical professionals and patients
  • Welcoming patients warmly and politely, gathering crucial information for identification
  • Providing essential details about referring doctors
  • Managing category and billing details
  • Guiding patients through procedures and issuing written instructions when necessary
  • Gathering required samples, labeling containers correctly, affixing laboratory stickers, and ensuring proper storage and transportation
  • Transporting specimens/reports from collection sites to designated destinations if needed

Salary Range: Collector Grade 2 IN24 - Collector Grade 4 IN27 ($30.39/hour - $35.29/hour + Salary Packaging & Super)

Mobile Collector IN25 - $36.46

Your Qualifications

  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Pathology Collection
  • Prior experience in a pathology collection service is highly preferred, especially in areas mentioned above
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)

About the Pathology Team

St Vincent's Pathology provides diagnostic services to inpatients of St Vincent's Private Hospitals in Fitzroy, East Melbourne, and Kew, as well as privately referred patients at up to 80 Pathology Collection centers across Metropolitan Melbourne.
