One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments is looking to engage a skilled Work Health and Safety Specialist to assist with the implementation of the key strategic objectives and initiatives outlined in a newly drafted WHS strategy. Work Health and Safety Specialist emphasise the importance of developing robust management systems as part of its growth, adaption, and exclusivity. The successful Work Health and Safety Specialist will be offered a 6 month contract with a further two 6 months of extensions.

The successful Work Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Accountable for providing leadership, direction, and technical control of the relevant specialist WHS to ensure high-level of integration.
  • Managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance, and developing people.
  • Utilising specialist expertise to provide advice and mentoring and technical instruction on the development of the specialist WHS capability.

The successful Work Health and Safety Specialist will have experience in the following:

  • Strong leadership experience and skills with regard to WHS.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills.
  • Managing complex projects.
  • Representing and communicating activities with relevant WHS functions within external and internal stakeholder forums.
