Movember is the global men's health movement taking on three of the biggest health issues affecting men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's mental health and suicide prevention.

Scientific Program Manager to join our
Melbourne based team.


About the role


You will be responsible for the management of Movember's prostate cancer research programs (including legacy global action plan programs) that form part of Movember's prostate cancer initiatives.

These programs aim to improve outcomes and the quality of life for men diagnosed with prostate cancer as well as their carers, families and loved ones.

The role acts at the intersection of the business, and clinicians/ researchers and people with lived experience of prostate cancer, to ensure we achieve our goals.

This is a full time fixed term position (2 year contract). You will have the opportunity to work flexibly, blending your time between home and our Richmond office.

You'll have the opportunity to

  • Manage Prostate Cancer Research initiatives within Movember Institute.
  • Collaborate with program managers within Movember.
  • Lead squads for One Movember strategy implementation.
  • Assist external organisations in project development and research infrastructure.
  • Provide guidance and support to external organisations.
  • Convene committees to inform research directions.
  • Liaise with legal, finance, and marketing teams for partnership agreements.
  • Identify and track program KPIs, communicate progress.
  • Adhere to Movember project management methodology and governance structures.
  • Oversee budget planning, financial reporting, and contractual compliance.
  • Develop program content in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Shape project directions to align with Movember's Strategy.
  • Foster crossfunctional relationships within Movember teams.
  • Lead or contribute to internal process improvement projects.

For this role, you'll need

  • Tertiary qualification in biomedical science or other healthrelated discipline.
  • Program and project management experience on global programs (preferably in a collaborative medical research environment).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and crossfunctional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicts and negotiations while providing impact and influence.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to maintain process and adhere to governance requirements.
  • Experience using information technology systems and project management tools (MS Project, Visio, Excel, SmartSheet, etc.)
  • Proficiency in analytical thinking and an ability to convey complex data results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to operate independently, make decisions and seek direction as required.
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Financial skills to develop and monitor large budget plans, including defining and implementing financial commitments in Movember contracts.
  • Able to work in a fast paced and growth environment.
  • Discretion and confidentiality.
