Deliver Sport and Recreation outcomes for schools, sporting, and community groups in a Program Officer role

We are looking for a Program Officer for a temporary part-time role (12 days across a 4 week cycle) up to 7 June 2025. The position will be at Lake Burrendong Sport and Recreation Centre.

We provide a competitive salary, ranging from $72,692 to $106,440 per year (ProRata) plus allowances ($12,979), 11% superannuation, and 17.5% leave loading. The starting salary aligns with qualifications, skills, and experience.

Lake Burrendong Sport and Recreation Centre offers various sport and recreation services, sporting events, and community programs to promote healthier individuals, connect communities, and strengthen NSW.

About the role

The Program Officer is responsible for planning and delivering outdoor education and recreation programs. In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Develop and implement programs to meet the needs of clients, including sport and active recreation outcomes for different groups.
  • Conduct activities following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adjust service delivery to suit the groups.
  • Handle client requests during programs, including incidents and emergencies.
  • Refer to Crown Employees (Office of Sport – Program Officers Award) and applicable legislation for the Program Officer role.
  • Temporary part-time, working 12 days in a 28-day cycle, including weekdays, weekends, and nights.
  • Take on on-call duties overnight during residential programs.

About you

  • You can plan and execute outdoor education and recreation programs for various groups.
  • You can implement programs following standard procedures.
  • You enjoy interacting with diverse customers and can adapt service delivery to their needs.
  • You can manage incidents and emergencies effectively.
  • You can collaborate with colleagues/clients to deliver program components.
  • You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential requirements

  • Degree-level qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Exercise Science, Human Movement) or a Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation with relevant industry experience.
  • First aid and CPR certifications.
  • Undertake on-call duties on a rotational basis during residential programs.
  • A National Criminal Records Check (NCRC) clearance and a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
