About the Role

An excellent career development opportunity has arisen for a Financial Analyst to join the Santos team for 12 months. Based at our Global Headquarters in Adelaide, this position reports to the Team Leader Financial Systems and Reporting and the primary objective is to deliver quality Finance cost allocations in line with the Santos Cost Allocation methodology, participate in Finance SAP system month end close processes and champion SAP Journal posting.

This role is part of a centralised Financial Services team that provides specialist finance SAP services to all finance operations across Santos.

Key accountabilities:

  • Deliver monthly cost allocations on behalf of our key stakeholders.
  • Apply the Santos cost allocation methodology to requests, evaluate and challenge changes and maintain compliance.
  • Maintain required data sets (such as SKFs) in SAP.
  • Support end user queries through analysis and reporting, both internally and to external parties such as JV auditors.
  • Engage finance stakeholders to drive initiatives to ensure the integrity of the inputs.
  • Complete reconciliations and provide assistance to others as required. Independently investigate irregularities and errors to solve problems.
  • Administer the Standing Journal Register including monthly compliance reporting.
  • Champion journal postings in SAP, providing assistance via training and troubleshooting to end users.
  • Assist in providing evidence for General Ledger internal and external audit control testing.
  • Perform month end activities in accordance with the Santos cost allocation methodology in SAP including assessment/distribution cycles and manual allocation journals.
  • Perform back up activities for other members of the month end close team.
About You

Holding an Accounting, Commerce, or similar Tertiary Degree, as well as a recognised Accounting qualification such as ICAA, CPA or equivalent, it is essential that interested candidates can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • SAP Finance system knowledge, in particular experience with assessment/distribution cycles.
  • Strong problem solving and strong analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated skills at an advanced level with Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing internal relationships and collaboration with others to meet common goals and objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience working cross functionally and managing different stakeholder needs.
