About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane Emergency Department is currently seeking a Registrar/Principal House Officer in Emergency Medicine to commence as soon as possible on a full time, fixed term contract for 12-months.
Mater Hospital Brisbane's Emergency Department sees 50,000 public adult patients per year with a 40% admission rate. The Emergency Department is accredited for 12 months advanced training with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. The departments' facilities include Short Stay Units and off-site rotations.
The Department of Emergency Medicine runs active registrar teaching programs for both Primary and Fellowship candidates undertaking FACEM training. Emergency Medicine registrars who have progressed to advanced training may be eligible for rotation to training terms in Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Rural Emergency Medicine, Retrieval Medicine, and our co-located "Pregnancy ED". Active Emergency Medicine Research is ongoing in the ED.
About you
To be considered for this role you will possess the following skills and experience:
General registration with AHPRA. Preferably registered as a trainee with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine or intending to do so. Minimum of 3 years' postgraduate experience. Broad experience in emergency medicine. Previous experience in Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Rural Emergency Medicine is desirable. Availability for ACEM training rotations (for Advanced Trainees in Emergency Medicine)Why join us?
