Medical Registrar

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Registrar to join our team at Mater Hospital Brisbane. As a Medical Registrar, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality clinical care to patients requiring medical services and acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfy the requirements of the RACP for specialist physician training.
Key Responsibilities- Manage inpatients and outpatients across a variety of Internal Medical units, including acute and elective admissions, ward rounds, and outpatient clinics.
- Formulate plans of management and implement decisions of senior medical staff on patient care, including determining, instigating, and following up appropriate investigations.
- Perform procedures within your capabilities, coordinate consultation with other specialty departments and services, and interact with other health professionals to provide ongoing clinical care to patients.
- Supervise, feedback, teach, and support junior medical staff and medical students, serving as a professional role model by demonstrating appropriate behavior and attitude.
- Communicate with patients and their families about diagnosis and management, and develop professional knowledge and skills through active involvement in educational programs.
- Participate in research activities and quality improvement initiatives, including audit and peer review, patient safety initiatives, and reporting of clinical incidents.
- General medical registration with AHPRA, or at least 12 months of practice in Australia or a region of Competent Authority as determined by AHPRA.
- At least 2 years postgraduate experience and experience in hospital-based internal medicine.
