Senior Manager ESG & Decarbonisation Advisory Newcastle, Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter NSW Health, Safety & Environment (Mining, Resources & Energy) Full time Highly attractive salary pkge will be negotiated Our Client, who is an international specialist advisory firm to the mining sector, is seeking to appoint a Senior Manager ESG & Decarbonisation Advisory to work at a highly strategic level across all their client's mining sites across the globe not just in Australia.

Our Client is at the forefront of project financing and mine decarbonisation.

The ideal candidate will strategically and practically understand the importance of ESG and how it connects with decarbonisation of the mining industry as a whole.

This role offers diversity of commodity, country and service delivery – as your skills and experience will be diversified as you will work with like minding professionals in mine advisory, decarbonisation, feasibility and mine optimisation studies, engineering, asset & risk management and project delivery.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, they commit to having a formal mentoring program for you with one of the best mining consultants in Australia.

Our Client is open to where this role is located (NSW, Qld or WA).

You will be given the imprimatur to help shape strategy and in return, the role will be shaped around youBeing a newly created opportunity, the mandate is to facilitate the gap between the technical and ESG sides of mine finance due diligence and study management, plus take on responsibility for the front-end of decarbonisation services.

You will take a hands-on approach to dealing with mining clients, providing them advice based on your career experience, and organically grow or recruit the skills to undertake your proposed strategy for delivery of ESG and decarbonisation advisory globally.

You will be required to utilise your highly developed ESG & decarbonisation skills honed from within the Mining industry to; Work with global banks and funds to undertake ESG due diligence and loan monitoring, working hand in glove with our Client's technical teams and a wide range of industry leading environmental and social specialist consultants.

Advise on bridging the gaps between mining development studies and ESG activities for our Clients Owners Study Management mandates, providing insights into alignment and optionality.

Further develop our Client's front-end decarbonisation services working closely with their engineering implementation and financial analysis teams to identify and prioritise emissions reduction pathways for existing and new mines.

Directly shape and develop their ESG and decarbonisation advisory strategies globally across all their offices, as they integrate them further with their technical advisory capabilities.

Our Client is NOT an environmental services firm, so you won't get "pigeon holed," stuck on the mundane everyday run of the mill work.

You will be the go-to generalist, that their mining clients want to talk to, while you coordinate the existing network of external local environmental and social specialists who know the realities of the jurisdictions they operate in, to oversee delivery of detailed and tailored audits and reviews.

The existing decarbonisation services team comprise front-end assessment and advice to mining clients for prioritised pathways to lower emissions, and back-end implementation engineering to make the opportunities reality.

You will drive the front-end, working with your own team alongside analysts and engineers as the first point of call for miners seeking to decarbonise.

Critical skills, knowledge & experience required to successfully undertake this role will be; An environmental or social science related degree.

Demonstrated experience in review and audit to Equator Principles, IFC performance standards and EBRD performance requirements.
Significant career experience across environmental and social approvals, baseline studies and environmental monitoring.
Previous experience in both mining companies and consulting roles across regions would be favourable.
