Randstad are proud to partner with a high quality service provider across multiple industries including mining, right here in South Australia. We are seeking an estimator with project management experience, to join our clients growing team and help deliver industry leading, Australian projects across multiple industries. This opportunity will be offered on a permanent, full-time basis at our clients manufacturing facility in the Northern Suburbs.

Position Purpose:

This opportunity will play a pivotal role in our clients team, and be responsible for providing the best estimating processes for operational activities. This opportunity will also support up and coming business development and contribute to current business opportunities for our client. We are seeking an estimator with steel fabrication and project management experience or a trade supervisor who is looking for a fresh challenge in a different capacity as an estimator.

What the role will involve:

  • Lead, develop and support our clients existing estimating framework and process.
  • Provide analysis on calculations, drawings and design reviews for the team.
  • Negotiate prices and rates with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare scope of work documents for various projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with our clients tender team, and provide support into pre-contract and delivery phases.
  • Conduct regular, planned client visits to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Liaise with co-workers, including trades to ensure project execution.

Candidate requirements:

  • A background in fabrication or trade qualification in metal fabrication or boiler making.
  • Experience in a workshop environment is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Understand and interpret technical documents.
  • Proven experience in project management is advantageous.
  • Computer literate in MS Suite and Auto-desk is advantageous.
  • Previous experience with mechanical plant and equipment is advantageous.
