Project Services Lead


Managing Project Controls aspects of the Projects, Wells and Decommissioning and Operations contracts to meet monthly internal and external reporting requirements, systems and functional development within Project Controls.

The Project Services Lead will interface with the appropriate functional departments and to ensure alignment, consistency, and service delivery to each of the Projects/Contracts.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works closely with the Commercial Manager to develop first class project support services in the areas of Planning & Scheduling, Cost, Estimating, Change Management and Processes.
  • Manage the Project controls teams and ensure sufficient resource is available to deliver ongoing and new work as required across the project's portfolio including integrated decommissioning projects where applicable.
  • Lead and Manage implementation across projects in the use of Petrofac internal Project Management systems, ensure training is provided and that system improvements are managed from inception to implementation with system providers, internal and external clients as required.
  • Interface with Petrofac Service Lines and 1Tec in alignment of process and systems to suit relevant business areas, projects and functional governance.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the project services disciplines including tendering, change management, project correspondence, and contract administration.
  • Manage the Project Controls function across all areas of delivery including more specifically (but not limited to), Cost Engineering including budgeting, project cost reporting, variance; Cost Estimating including norm reviews and benchmarking; Planning including schedule control, progress monitoring, schedule analysis and Processes implementation.
  • Ensure project services discipline activities operate within company project governance guidelines and ensure compliance with appropriate processes & procedures and systems.
  • Ensure contracts and budget is in place for all work performed and to work align with Contract and Procurement Team.
  • Maintain awareness with the project management and project engineers on project cost and planning performance against budget and schedule; analyse potential changes; Lead recommendations on corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development of best practice project controls as required by the global business.
  • Ensure the capture of project Closeout information and share with project to enable recycling of data to improve estimating.
  • Manage customer relationships and requirements on project control matters.
  • Manage project control functional development, functional performance delivery and efficiencies.
  • Ensure collation and presentation of consolidated performance reporting and KPI measurement across all relevant contracts.
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly accounts, annual project budgets and reforecasts and the preparation of operational budgets and reforecasts as required.
  • Ensuring that periodic audits and reviews are undertaken on project control process with deliverable accuracy and consistency.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Degree qualified (preferably in Construction/Quantity Surveying/Business)
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work under own initiative and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven client interaction
  • Ability to work to tight timescales and prioritise work efficiently
  • Project controls experience on large scale Projects to minor modifications scopes
  • Commercial contracts experience
  • Experience using project delivery systems including implementation
  • Experience within the Oil and Gas industry
  • Leadership/Supervisory experience
