We are looking for a motivated, senior engineer who has proven project management experience to join our team.

The purpose of this position is to project manage multiple projects and deliver quality project outcomes and deliverables to meet commercial agreements with clients within budget and in a timely manner.

The position reports directly to the Operations Manager in regard to project and task delivery.
The position has technical and quality reporting to relevant scientists, engineers and other technical specialists and the HSEQ officer.

Duties for this Position:
Project management and client management as delegated by the Operations Manager.
Scope projects, build project budgets and winning proposals.
Manage project tasks and complete on time, with quality workmanship, within the project budget.
Positively liaise with, and maintain, cooperative relationships with clients, government agency staff and peers.
Undertake occasional field investigations and data collection and assessments; including projects requiring travel and stays away from home.
Deliver quality project outcomes including, data analyses and create letters, maps, briefs, reports and other technical advices.
Engage the market to generate leads and enquiries for projects with new and existing clients.
Complete all projects following the business protocols; Learn and use our ISO 9001 systems.

Formal Qualifications and Experience Required:
Tertiary qualifications in one or more of the following areas: Environmental, Agricultural or Civil Engineering, or related.

A minimum of 7 years' in an Australian professional or technical consultancy position, in private industry Demonstrated experience in analytical and report writing.

Demonstrated experience in project management.
Current Open driver's license.
(manual vehicle preferred)."White Card" or ability to obtain.
First Aid certificate is preferred.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities You are responsible for: Completing work on time and to a quality standard.
Accepting, implementing, executing and completing project tasks form scoping through to project closure.
Project management of your delegated projects, including administrative oversight and closure.
Ensuring that relationships with our clients and stakeholders (suppliers/peers/support staff/contractors) are maintained in good order.
Being fit for work.

You are accountable for:

Reporting to the weekly operations meeting, risk items, your progress on projects, and scheduled completions; Weekly delivery of project tasks and deliverables against deadlines; Maintaining project cards to track project work, tasks and issues; Completing project tasks, as agreed at the start of the week, by the end of each week; Every week, at week end (or better), reporting your activity time by data entry to our systems; Project completion to the business standards; Immediately reporting any incident, accident or observation.


Selection Criteria:

The candidate must respond to the following selection criteria: Tertiary qualifications in an engineering or related degree, and experience a relevant area; Experience in private industry consultancy in science (7 years minimum) in Australia; Proven project management experience and capability; Rural background, or experience working in Australian rural and regional areas; Proven ability to manage time and prioritise projects with competing interests; Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; A proactive self-starter, motivated, with the ability to self-manage but also to take direction from management.
