Our client, Department of Education, are currently seeking a Scrum Master for an initial 20 month contract with possible extension.


This role will work very closely with Project, Delivery & Release Managers, Development and Testing teams, Product owners and stakeholders to ensure the OneSchool Development & Delivery team delivers consistently high-quality results aligned with business objectives.


The Scrum Master will be responsible for:

  • Successful delivery from an Agile Development perspective of a range of OneSchool enhancements as defined from the OneSchool Program of Works. These enhancements are used by all state schools.
  • Facilitating scrum ceremonies and other meetings/events including daily scrum/standup, iteration planning (including user story definition, sizing & prioritization), iteration reviews, iteration retrospectives, and feature backlog refinement if required.

  • Facilitating scrum ceremonies and other meetings/events including daily scrum/standup, iteration planning (including user story definition, sizing & prioritization), iteration reviews, iteration retrospectives, and feature backlog refinement if required.
  • Working across multiple teams and various stakeholders to deliver these OneSchool enhancements.
  • Managing and tracking sprint progress against budgeted hours and schedule, maintaining sprint flow by removing blockers and bottlenecks, focusing on goals and communicating any potential risks and recommending solutions and resolving complicated project issues.
  • Creating/ maintaining reporting dashboards for teams utilising DevOPs.
  • Coaching team members in the increased adoption of Agile practises.
  • Supporting selfmanaged teams to enable them to manage impediments and expedite interactions/ dependencies outside of the team.
  • Ensuring the team remains focused on priorities and aligned to strategy and roadmaps, and that backlog and release plans are maintained.
  • Assisting in the development, planning and delivery of a portfolio of work for the team.
  • Ensures that the team is focussed on the highest priorities by working closely with either the Project Manager, Technical Manager, Project Owner or Product Owner (whichever is applicable to the project)

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a Scrum Master/Iteration Manager role
  • Understanding of Agile behaviours, tools and techniques
  • Proven appropriate industry experience in technology
  • Previous experience in a large complex organisation
  • Excellent skills in leading a team including coaching
  • Comfortable resolving conflict and to facilitate discussion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing skills
  • Certified Scrum Master is desirable
  • Microsoft Azure DevOps significant experience would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in an Agile environment in a similar role including facilitating SCRUM ceremonies. Microsoft Azure DevOps experience would be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in bringing/ performing coaching of Agile practices into an organisation of similar size
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivering across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Strong problemsolving and negotiation skills
  • High quality interpersonal and communication skills
