A bit about the role


As a Marketing Officer in the Cultural Venues unit at Wyndham Council, you will plan and deliver all aspects of marketing activities for Cultural Venues, including advertising, direct marketing, publicity, online and e-marketing, social engagement and branding.


You will aim to develop and implement audience engagement plans and activation activities that identify, grow and diversify audiences for cultural and hospitality programs.


What you'll do

  • Develop, implement and monitor marketing strategies, campaigns and activities for Council's Cultural Venues programming
  • Develop and implement Audience Development plans and programs, including qualitative and quantitative data collection, evaluation and reporting
  • Develop endtoend campaigns for mainstage performances, programs and other priorities as assigned
  • Develop content for all digital and social media marketing, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, electronic direct marketing and display advertising campaigns
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers (including venues, media agencies, design agencies, photographers and videographers) to maximise all opportunities and ensure optimum positioning for Council's Cultural Venues
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a subscriber loyalty strategy
  • Plan and manage the design, build and maintenance of Cultural Venues websites and social media presence

What you'll bring

  • A degree or diploma in Marketing (or a related discipline)
  • Demonstrated experience in developing online communications and social media profile in a business environment
  • Demonstrated experience in developing plans and activities for audience development, engagement and campaign management.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning and executing marketing activities, print and digital communications that engage, inform and motivate
  • Good understanding of public and media relations
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Creative Suite, customer relationship management tools, event management and ticketing systems
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
