About the role:


We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity for an experienced ETCS Specialist to join the team based in Melbourne, Australia.

This role is to provide high quality Digital Rail Systems consultancy services (primarily ETCS) through state-wide assignments and supporting other states as required.

What you will be involved in:

  • Support the Digital Rail Systems team in achieving business objectives by owning functional deliverables and interfaces that meet key project milestones and performance objectives;
  • Provide technical advice for planning the implementation of ETCS Level 2 onto Metro Networks;
  • Provide technical expertise for the development of operational and maintenance concepts, Digital Signalling principles, operational scenarios and user requirements using Model Based Systems Engineering;
  • Develop Systems Requirements for ETCS deployment projects using Systems Engineering principles in accordance with System Assurance processes, to ensure the implementation of efficient, effective and safe systems and working;
  • Provide expert advice for technical requirements to comply with statute, national and international standards, program governance and industry practice;
  • Work with the wider Program team and stakeholders to deliver an integrated solution that interfaces to adjacent signalling systems (e.g. conventional or CBTC), and delivers the client's requirements;
  • Use appropriate Systems Engineering toolsets (such as DOORS / Rhapsody) to support projects to deliver the management of requirements, architecture, design, standards, interfaces, V&V, change, risk, issues and other processes in the Systems Engineering Framework;

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Experience with working on digital rail/signalling projects;
  • Experience in ETCS, including knowledge of the European Technical Specifications for Interoperability;
  • Experience with delivering rail projects to successful completion on time;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
  • Strong stakeholder and interface management skills with the ability to build positive relationships across a diverse range of client stakeholders;
  • Strong problemsolving skills and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and deliver to tight deadlines under pressure.
Desirable

  • Chartered or incorporated engineering status;
  • Membership of a relevant professional body;
  • Experience during the development and entry into service phase of new rail infrastructure.
  • Knowledge/experience of working in the Australian rail industry.
